The Main, River and Chisolm roundabout is open
Traffic started moving through it at 6 am Monday, and River Road reopened after the weekend closure.

The new roundabout where Main, River and Chisolm roads meet on Johns Island opened to traffic at 6 a.m. on Monday, October 19. Crews had closed River Road on Friday evening for the final stormwater and paving work; it was set to reopen Monday morning.
The roundabout is part of Charleston County's U.S. 17 and Main Road Improvements Project, paid for by the 2016 transportation sales tax. The project covers 2.4 miles of Main Road, from Bees Ferry Road to River and Chisolm roads.
Why it matters: It's the daily crossroads for anyone driving between the Limehouse Bridge, River Road and Main Road.
