The Heyday is closing. Its last day is Sunday, October 25
The all-day café and bar in Hayes Park will close and be sold. Go say goodbye this week.
The Heyday, the all-day café and bar at 605 Kindred Court in Hayes Park on Johns Island, will close after Sunday, October 25. Its owners announced on Instagram that they decided over the last couple of weeks to close the restaurant and sell it.
In the post, James and the Heyday team wrote that the restaurant wasn't performing in a way that made sense financially, and that a full-service restaurant needs a lot of revenue to work right now. They got into this part of the island early: they started on The Heyday in October 2023, and the rec center, the Main Road work and the growth around it are still on the way.
They're going to refocus on their other three locations, get some rest and be with family. They wrote that they're "excited to see someone take it over and crush it."
From all of us at The Johns Islander: thank you, James and the whole Heyday crew. We always loved that place. You took a chance on this corner of Johns Island before almost anyone else did, and the island is better for it. Go by before Sunday and tell them yourself.
