Low tide.

The board opens with twelve of the sixteen words: the two plainer groups whole, and half of each tricky one. Sort a group and the tide drops, and the last four float up, two for each tricky group, so you reason in stages instead of hunting through a haystack.

Each day's sixteen words are set by hand, with one way to sort them and a decoy or two that fit somewhere else. Plain groups early in the week, wordplay by the weekend. About one day in eight, one group comes from the islands, and the site's own pages back it up.
