- Freshfields in November: Smoke & Shuck to SantaWine nights, Garden & Gun's oyster and barbecue afternoon Nov. 14, the race finish Nov. 21, a Thanksgiving market and Santa all holiday weekend, as the village lists them.
- Kiawah planners take up a civic center expansion and the Urban Growth Boundary WednesdayThe Planning Commission meets Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Municipal Center. Also on the agenda: floating docks at Shell Creek Landing, the island's dock rules and design review.
- Oyster season is open on the creeks around the islandsRecreational picking runs from Oct. 1 to May 15, 2027. The license, the two-bushel limit, where the State and Public grounds are, how to check for rain closures and where to drop your shells.
